ProSAANI = Pro Sanitate Animalis = For animal health! That is what the ProSAANI team, led by CEO Martin Grell, stands for. The ProSAANI logo symbolizes its philosophy: on the one hand, the veterinarian, owner, and horse fit together like pieces of a puzzle; on the other hand, veterinarians, osteopaths, farriers, and others form a unified team dedicated to the health of animals.
Modern therapeutic devices, such as cold plasma devices and magnetic/light therapy devices, are used across various disciplines. In addition to specializing in equine dentistry since 2000, another focus of the practice is a holistic approach, which stems in part from many years of experience as a racetrack and endurance veterinarian, including collaboration with specialists in all areas of equine health. For example, the connection between faecal water and gastric problems in equines is being investigated in the ongoing doctoral thesis of ProSAANI veterinarian Melanie Jargosch, and FEI veterinarian Sercan Koray Yendim is conducting research on anti-Müllerian hormone in equine gynecology.
In addition to sport and leisure horses, special attention is also given to geriatric equine patients, who often present complex challenges for practitioners. The ProSAANI team is happy to take on this challenge. For this purpose, bronchoscopes, gastroscopes, mobile ultrasound equipment, and an on-site laboratory are available for rapid diagnosis and treatment in the field of internal medicine. The dental specialists travel in several teams using practice vehicles equipped with specialized dental equipment. This enables them to “shed light on the darkness inside horses’ mouths” even during outpatient treatment through the use of portable dental endoscopes, digital X-rays, and more. The dental treatments themselves are performed using high-quality electric equipment from a wide range of international manufacturers. However, manual therapy with hand rasps remains an indispensable tool in equine dental care.
At its Hoppegarten location, ProSAANI has a treatment room specially equipped for treating horses' teeth. This room not only allows for complex dental surgeries and corrections to be performed, but also serves as a training facility for aspiring equine dental practitioners.
