Baker McVeigh Equine Veterinary Practices were founded in 1963 by Dr. Brian Baker in Summerveld, in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal. With the arrival of John McVeigh in 1990, the practice adopted a pioneering, preventive approach that has since attracted a valued international clientele. Today, Baker McVeigh offers comprehensive equine healthcare services, including state-of-the-art clinic facilities, mobile services, and consulting services in eight countries worldwide.

Baker McVeigh – Lambourn
Nestled in the heart of the “Valley of Racehorses” lies the idyllic Upshire Farm, home to the renowned Baker McVeigh Equine Practice in Lambourn. This prestigious practice offers comprehensive mobile services using state-of-the-art technology, including digital radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy. The state-of-the-art training facility is unparalleled and features an impressive 14 miles of racetracks, creating an ideal environment for the training and care of racehorses.
Baker McVeigh – Newmarket
Founded in 2006, the Newmarket practice serves as the central hub for Baker McVeigh’s UK operations and international expansion. Located in the heart of Newmarket, the practice focuses on sport and performance horses.
Baker McVeigh – Yorkshire
Baker McVeigh & Abbott was founded in Malton on St. Patrick’s Day 2014. In March 2023, the practice expanded its presence in Yorkshire with a permanent location in Middleham. Its services cover the entire region and support renowned racing stables as well as horses in all disciplines—from recreational riding to high-performance sport.
