We are delighted to welcomeElder’s Equine Veterinary Service, a leading Canadian equine clinic, as a new partner. Since its founding in 1967, Elder's Equine has been a trusted clinic in the Winnipeg–southeast Manitoba region. Through its partnership with Altano, the team now combines over five decades of local expertise with the global reach of our international Altano network—to the benefit of its clients.
In 2012, Dr. Chris Bell took over management of the clinic from its founder, Dr. Norm Elder, and continued the tradition of excellent veterinary care—combined with continuous development and innovation.

In 2024, Elder's Equine became the first clinic in Canada to introduce combined MRI-CT imaging. These devices—together with the team's extensive experience—enable precise diagnoses, particularly in the field of sports medicine. In addition, the clinic also cares for racehorses and specifically addresses the special needs of these high-performance athletes. Through the partnership with Altano, employees also benefit from the innovation and training opportunities within the network.
With its many years of experience and deep roots in the Winnipeg-Manitoba region, Elder's Equine enjoys a high level of trust among its customers. As a full-service clinic, it offers a wide range of services, including dentistry, surgery, internal medicine, preventive, reproductive, and regenerative medicine, as well as inpatient treatments. The team also provides mobile services. A renovation of the practice in 2020 enabled the establishment of a year-round lameness center, the first of its kind in the region.
Today, six veterinarians and four certified veterinary assistants care for the horses in the region. In addition to its veterinary work, Elder's Equine is also actively involved in the horse industry, sponsoring local events and associations with donations in kind and money, thereby giving something back to the community.
